Curled Carrot
This method of preparing carrots is great to show off your kitchen skills to your friends and family. Its quick and very simple, yet provides a great twist to your salads. You will need: Carrots (as many as you would normally use for your salads) 1 sewing needle 1 spool of cotton With the carrots at room temperature, cut them into long very thin slices with a knife or vegetable peeler. Thread your needle and remember to leave a fair amount of cotton, then roll each slice up and thread the needle through the carrot. Continue doing this until you have a long string of curls and place them in iced water for 1 to 2 hours. When you are ready to use the curls in your salad, simply cut the cotton and gently slip the carrots off.
